Two-step login and recovery codes
Protect your account with a code from an authenticator app. Keep your recovery codes safe.
With two-step login, you need your password and a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone to log in. This also applies when you log in with Google, Apple or Microsoft.
- Go to Account > Security and start two-step login.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app, or type the key into it.
- Enter the code from the app to confirm.
- Save the 10 recovery codes you get. They are shown only once.
Recovery codes
Lost your phone? Log in with one of your recovery codes instead of an app code. Each code works once. You can make a new set on the Security page; the old codes then stop working.
We email you when two-step login is turned on or off, and when someone logs in with a recovery code.
Lost both your phone and your recovery codes? Contact us from the email address of your account.
